In the Face of Agony is a chamber work for two clarinets, piano and double…
Inside the Mosaic has no one meaning. Rather, the music has the potential to prompt a collection of different ideas and emotions. The piece invites the listener to journey into a playful world of colour and texture. The musical fragments that move across the ensemble fit together perfectly – just like a mosaic. There is a sense of how strange it would be to be inside a mosaic, and at the same time a sense of wonder at being inside this fragmented world.
This piece was commissioned for the Classical Sundays at the Studio November recital at the Brett Whiteley Studio. This is a live recording of the premiere performance at the Brett Whiteley Studio in Surry Hills, 19 November 2017.
Performed by Emily Duffill, Emma Hunt, Emma Lefroy and Eva Li.
