Welcome to my brand new website! I am so excited to be able to share news about my music and performances with you!

Sophie Van Dijk and Chloe KimSetting up this website has been incredibly fun, but also quite challenging as I have been getting my head around the technology! I couldn’t have done it without my fabulous Uncle Matt and his tech-tips along the way – so thankyou!
As part of the process, I spent the day with my amazingly talented photo-taking, music-making friend Chloe Kim exploring Sydney and having some photoshoots in different locations so that I would have some great images to share. It was so lovely to be able to spend time with my friend and put another piece of the puzzle together for this website.

You can find out about my professional projects here. But I thought I would share a little bit about me and how I first got into composing :
I have been composing for almost as long as I can remember (this statement is perhaps slightly clichéd, but true!) I was always writing new tunes while sitting at the piano instead of doing my piano practice, much to my mum’s frustration! I started to experiment with orchestration and consider composition more seriously in my grade 10 music class. And now, writing and performing new music, and sharing it with others, is my passion.

When I’m not composing, you might find me working at the Australian River Restoration Centre to share news about our Australian rivers and environment on our websites and social media. Or, you will find me exploring Sydney on a sunny day, or curled up on the couch working on a craft project and watching a movie with my housemates on a cold winter evening.

Check out some of my work to date in my Portfolio and on my Soundcloud page.  You can also keep up to date with news about performances, projects, music that I am loving and people that I am working with on this blog and on my Facebook page.  There are some exciting things coming over the next six months, so stay tuned!
